All Marine Land Clearing, founded by a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, is improving community safety through environmental design.
Atlanta, GA – [October 12, 2024] – As crime incidents along public trails and recreational areas throughout Georgia have been on the rise, the need for safer public spaces has never been more urgent. In response, All Marine Land Clearing, a veteran-owned business led by Josh Hopkins, is partnering with local park and recreation leaders to make these areas more secure. Through their Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) work, All Marine's team of veterans are uniquely enhancing safety in parks, playgrounds, and trails across the state.
CPTED is an innovative approach to crime prevention that focuses on modifying the physical environment to deter criminal activity. Recent incidents around Georgia's trails and parks have highlighted the need for better sightlines and clearer paths. All Marine Land Clearing is addressing this by clearing underbrush and improving visibility, creating safer recreational spaces for families, children, and residents.
“I absolutely hate that this is something that has to be solved for. Women, children and families should feel safe - especially in local recreational areas like parks and trails. Unfortunately these areas have been an easy target for bad actors,” said Owner and Marine Corps veteran, Josh Hopkins.“I opened this business to give back to the community - originally thinking we would improve residential and commercial operations through land clearing, but CPTED has now expanded our ability to serve our community.”
